Google CEO Sundar Pichai got an honorary Doctor of Science degree from his alma institution, IIT Kharagpur, on a sentimental and thankful homecoming. In addition, Anjali Pichai, Pichai’s wife, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award at the San Francisco ceremony.
Pichai wrote on Instagram, “Last week I was grateful to receive an honorary doctorate from my alma mater IIT Kharagpur,” as he considered the accolade. My parents had always wished for me to earn a doctorate—I believe an honorary degree is still valid.
