Indian Army Neutralizes Two Terrorists in Nowshera Anti-Infiltration Operation
Jammu & Kashmir, September 9, 2024 – Following critical intelligence inputs and alerts from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army launched an anti-infiltration operation in the general area of Lam, Nowshera, during the night of September 8-9, 2024. The operation was triggered by concerns of a possible infiltration bid across the Line of Control (LoC).

The Army’s swift action resulted in the neutralization of two terrorists in the area. In addition to the successful neutralization, a significant cache of war-like stores has been recovered. The seized items include two AK-47 rifles and one pistol, among other equipment, which underscores the seriousness of the infiltration attempt.
The operation involved intensive searches and engagements in the rugged and challenging terrain of Nowshera. The area’s dense vegetation and difficult landscape required careful and strategic handling to ensure that no further threats remained unaddressed.
As of now, the search operation is ongoing, with Army units continuing to comb the area to ensure that no additional terrorists are present and to further secure the region. The operation has been a demonstration of the Indian Army’s readiness and capability in responding to security threats and maintaining the integrity of the border.
Local authorities are working alongside the Army to support the operation and ensure the safety of the surrounding communities. They have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to assist in the comprehensive search efforts.
Further updates will be provided as the operation progresses and additional information becomes available. The Indian Army remains committed to protecting the borders and responding decisively to any threats to national security.
