OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Pro at $200/Month with Advanced Features and New AI Model

OpenAI has officially launched ChatGPT Pro, a premium subscription tier priced at $200 per month. This new offering provides access to advanced features, including the cutting-edge o1 Pro Mode, which enhances the model’s capabilities. Alongside the Pro tier, OpenAI has also introduced the stable o1 model, aimed at significantly improving problem-solving performance and overall user experience.

For those not seeking the Pro features, the existing ChatGPT Plus tier remains available at $20 per month, offering a more affordable option with access to the standard version of the AI model.

With the launch of ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI continues to expand its offerings for power users, providing more robust tools and capabilities for complex tasks and in-depth interactions.

OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Pro with Exclusive Features, Advanced AI Model, and Enhanced Tools

OpenAI has unveiled a new subscription tier, ChatGPT Pro, priced at $200 per month (approximately £158), offering users exclusive access to advanced features, including the latest AI model, o1. ChatGPT Pro provides unlimited access to GPT-4o, an advanced voice mode, and an upgraded version of the o1 model, known as o1 Pro Mode. This enhanced mode leverages additional computing resources to deliver superior solutions for complex challenges, such as intricate coding tasks, scientific reasoning, and advanced mathematics.

For users who don’t require these premium features, the existing ChatGPT Plus tier remains available at $20 per month (around £16), offering early access to new features and all models. However, it does not include o1 Pro Mode or its enhanced capabilities.

In addition to the launch of ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI has also rolled out the stable version of its o1 model, replacing the earlier o1-preview version. The upgraded model, which was initially introduced in September as a limited preview under the code name “Strawberry,” is now available to ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers. Enterprise and Edu users are expected to gain access next week.

The new o1 model marks a significant upgrade over its predecessor, with notable improvements in solving complex, multistep problems in areas like science, coding, and mathematics. OpenAI emphasizes enhanced speed and accuracy, as well as the ability to analyze and reason about images, marking a significant leap in AI-driven problem-solving and reasoning. Additionally, the model now delivers more concise responses, offering quicker and more precise answers for users.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has also teased a series of exciting livestream events set to begin on December 5 at 10 a.m. PT (11:30 p.m. IST). Altman announced that the events will span 12 days, showcasing new tools and features, with some major surprises promised. In a post on X, he expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming launches, writing, “We’ve got some great stuff to share—hope you enjoy! Merry Christmas.”

One of the most anticipated features of the livestreams is the introduction of Sora AI, OpenAI’s highly awaited text-to-video tool, expected to be a key highlight in the upcoming demonstrations. These events will give the public a firsthand look at OpenAI’s latest innovations in artificial intelligence, further pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve.
