Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’ First Glimpse Unveiled, Showcasing a Grand Mythological Saga

The much-awaited first glimpse of director Nitesh Tiwari’s epic saga ‘Ramayana’ is finally out, offering a visually stunning peek into what promises to be one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious mythological adaptations.

Released on July 3, the teaser unveils Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as the menacing Ravana. The first look was launched with simultaneous screenings in nine Indian cities and was even showcased at Times Square, New York, highlighting the film’s global vision.

The film stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, and Kajal Aggarwal in a key supporting role. Together, they bring mythological characters to life in this two-part cinematic saga.

‘Ramayana’ reimagines the ancient tale of good versus evil, portraying Ravana as a once-rejected demon child who rises to power and threatens the cosmic order. In response, Lord Vishnu incarnates as Ram to restore balance, setting the stage for an epic war.

Adding to the grandeur, the film’s music is composed by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, while action sequences are choreographed by Terry Notary and Guy Norris, known for their work in global blockbusters like Avatar and Mad Max: Fury Road.

The film is produced by Namit Malhotra and co-produced by Yash, under Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, in collaboration with DNEG, the eight-time Oscar-winning VFX studio.
Part 1 of ‘Ramayana’ will hit global screens in Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
