TV Actor Ashish Kapoor Arrested on Rape Charges After Allegation by Woman He Met on Instagram

Television actor Ashish Kapoor has been arrested by Delhi Police on charges of rape, following a complaint filed by a woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted during a house party in the capital last month.
According to police sources, Kapoor came into contact with the woman through Instagram. He later invited her to a house party hosted at a friend’s residence in Delhi, where the alleged incident took place during the second week of August.
Allegations and Investigation
The woman has accused Kapoor of sexually assaulting her inside a bathroom at the party. In her initial complaint, she named Kapoor, his friend, the friend’s wife, and two unidentified individuals. However, she later revised her statement, stating that only Kapoor was involved in the assault.
She also alleged that the act was recorded on video, but police have not recovered any such footage so far. Additionally, she claimed that after the assault, the wife of Kapoor’s friend physically assaulted her outside the bathroom.
Interestingly, it was the same woman—the friend’s wife—who made the PCR (Police Control Room) call to report the incident, police said. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, with statements being recorded and digital evidence being examined.
