Tragedy Strikes at Pushpa 2 Premiere in Hyderabad: Woman Dies, Son Critical in Stampede

The premiere of Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad, which was expected to be a joyous celebration for fans of Allu Arjun, turned into a tragic event on December 4. A stampede broke out outside the Sandhya Theatre, leading to the death of a 39-year-old woman, while her son remains in critical condition.

The incident occurred as a massive crowd gathered at the theatre in anticipation of Allu Arjun’s arrival. The situation quickly escalated when the actor made a surprise appearance, triggering a rush among fans eager to catch a glimpse of their idol. The chaotic scene resulted in a stampede that left several people injured, including Revathi, a resident of Dilsukhnagar, and her 9-year-old son, Sri Tej.

Revathi, along with her husband Bhaskar and their two children, Sri Tej (9) and Sanvika (7), had arrived at the Sandhya 70mm theatre to attend the premiere of Pushpa 2. As fans surged forward to see Allu Arjun, the stampede caused Revathi and Sri Tej to collapse. Both were quickly rushed to nearby hospitals. Revathi was declared dead on arrival at Durga Bhai Deshmukh Hospital, while Sri Tej, who sustained serious injuries, was later transferred to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet, where he remains in critical condition.

The tragic incident occurred around 10:30 pm, shortly after Allu Arjun’s appearance. Despite heavy security and police presence, the crowd’s frenzy overwhelmed the authorities. Police struggled to control the situation as fans pushed and shoved in their attempt to catch a closer view of the star.

In the aftermath of the stampede, Allu Arjun left the venue under tight security. As his vehicle made its way out of the area, he briefly waved to the fans from the sunroof and urged them to clear the path for the vehicles. The star, known for his popular role in the Pushpa franchise, expressed his gratitude to the crowd but also called for calm in the midst of the chaos.

Revathi’s body was later moved to Gandhi Mortuary, while authorities continue to investigate the cause of the stampede. The tragic incident has raised concerns about crowd management at high-profile events, with many questioning the adequacy of security measures given the large turnout.

As the city mourns the loss, Allu Arjun’s fans have expressed their shock and condolences, highlighting the sad turn of events that marred what should have been a celebratory occasion. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of large crowds and the need for effective crowd control in public gatherings.
