📰 Bulandshahr Tragedy: 9 Dead Including 2 Children, 43 Injured as Truck Hits Tractor-Trolley Carrying Pilgrims
Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh | August 25, 2025 — A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district has claimed nine lives, including two children, after a truck rammed into a tractor-trolley carrying pilgrims in the early hours of Monday. At least 43 others were injured, 12 of whom are minors, police officials confirmed.
According to Bulandshahr District Magistrate Shruti, the death toll rose to nine after one of the three critically injured victims succumbed to injuries during treatment.
🚨 How the Tragedy Unfolded
The accident occurred around 2:10 a.m. near the Arnia bypass on the Bulandshahr-Aligarh border, when a canter truck rammed into the rear of a tractor-trolley, causing it to overturn.
“The vehicle was carrying 61 pilgrims from Rafatpur village in Kasganj district, en route to Jaharpeer in Rajasthan for a religious pilgrimage,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural) Dinesh Kumar Singh.

Out of the 61 passengers:
- 9 people have died (including 2 children)
- 43 are injured and receiving treatment
- 3 of the injured are on ventilator support
- 10 others escaped with minor injuries
The deceased have been identified as:
- E U Babu (40) – tractor driver
- Rambeti (65)
- Chandni (12)
- Ghaniram (40)
- Mokshi (40)
- Shivansh (6)
- Yogesh (50)
- Vinod (45)
- One more critically injured person who succumbed later
All victims are residents of Kasganj district, officials said.
🏥 Injured Shifted to Multiple Hospitals
The injured were quickly taken to nearby hospitals:
- 10 patients to Aligarh Medical College
- 10 patients to Bulandshahr District Hospital
- 23 patients to Kailash Hospital, Khurja
🕊️ CM Yogi Adityanath Offers Condolences and Compensation
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over the incident and issued a statement through his office on X (formerly Twitter):
“The Chief Minister extends his condolences to the bereaved families and has directed officials to ensure the best treatment for the injured. He has wished them a speedy recovery.”
CM Adityanath also announced ex gratia compensation of:
- ₹2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased
- ₹50,000 for each of the injured victims
🚔 Police Action and Legal Proceedings
Police have impounded the errant truck, which is registered in Haryana, and confirmed that legal action is underway.
District Magistrate Shruti, along with SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh and other senior officials, visited the accident site and later met injured patients at the hospitals to oversee treatment efforts.
“Post-mortem examinations are being conducted, and the investigation will cover negligence and vehicle fitness aspects,” police added.
