Abhishek Bachchan Breaks Silence on Trolls, Family Rumours, and the Emotional Toll of Misinformation
Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, known for maintaining a dignified silence amid constant scrutiny, has finally opened up about the emotional toll that online trolling and rumours take on him and his family. In a recent interview with Etimes, Abhishek candidly addressed how misinformation affects his loved ones, especially amid ongoing speculations about his alleged separation from wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Speaking on the issue, Abhishek said,
“Previously, things that were said about me didn’t affect me. Today, I have a family, and it’s very upsetting. Even if I clarify something, people will turn it around. Because negative news sells.”
He stressed that those who spread negativity must deal with their own conscience.
“You’re not me. You don’t live my life. People putting out such negativity have to answer to their conscience and to their maker.”
Abhishek recounted a recent incident where a troll posted a nasty comment, which hurt his friend Sikander Kher. Sikander responded by challenging the troll to say it face-to-face.
“It’s so convenient to hide behind a screen and be cruel. You’re still hurting someone.”
He emphasized the importance of empathy in the digital age, stating that even thick-skinned celebrities are human and feel pain.
Upcoming Projects
Abhishek will next be seen in Kaalidhar Laapata, premiering on ZEE5 on July 4. The movie follows a man seeking a second chance at life after betrayal by his family. He stars alongside Daivik Bhagela and Zeeshan Ayyub.
He is also part of Siddharth Anand’s upcoming action drama King, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and other major stars. The film is currently under production.
